A crumbling Syracuse mansion will get new life as housing for incoming refugees
A local resettlement agency in New York recently purchased a 7,000-square-foot house near its office to be refurbished and transformed into transitional housing for newly arriving refugees. The agency has been working towards its own housing for eight years as housing shortages have added extra challenges to resettlement in the area.

Church Congregation Secures Newcomer Housing
A Boston congregation relocated two large Afghan families who had been living in their church basement for two years. The families left Afghanistan as soon as they could after the Taliban took control of the county and, thanks to the pastor and congregation a church in Newburyport, Massachusetts, they found a home at the St. Paul's Episcopal Church. While that situation was not ideal, to say the least, the families’ and congregation’s persistence in looking for a better option led to an amazing outcome.
